**Looking for a flatmate in Amsterdam Oost from 1 October 🏡** This is perhaps a slightly different kind of flatmate ad, because I’m not really offering **just a room** — I’m looking for someone to **share a beautiful, spacious home with me**. I’ve lived in my apartment on Bankastraat in Amsterdam Oost for 10 years and my current flatmate is moving out, so I’m looking for the right person to join me (and my Golden Retriever, Indy 🐕). The apartment is around **80 m², with only two bedrooms**, so shared between two people it feels incredibly spacious. There is a huge living room, separate kitchen, balcony, bathroom and separate toilet, and plenty of room for both of us to have our own space. It definitely doesn’t have the feeling of a typical Amsterdam “room in a shared house”. **Who am I?** I’m 41 and work as a marketing specialist for a software company, partly from home. I also teach a few hours of yoga each week and I’m building my own natural perfume/scent brand, so I keep myself pretty busy. At home I’m quiet, relaxed and low-key. I like my home to be the place where I can work, cook, rest and recharge rather than a party house. I live with **Indy, my Golden Retriever**, who is extremely sweet, very well trained and remarkably quiet (he basically never barks). He’s also a total Velcro dog and generally follows me around, so you need to genuinely be comfortable with dogs — but you won’t suddenly become responsible for looking after him. 😊 **Who am I hoping to find?** Ideally another **working professional, researcher, postdoc, PhD candidate or generally settled/mature person** who is looking for something similar. Maybe you’re already at the point where you *could* rent a small apartment or studio alone, but paying €1,700–€1,900+ every month just to live alone doesn’t feel particularly sensible. You’d rather share a much bigger and more comfortable home with just **one other responsible adult**, while keeping several hundred euros each month for savings, travel, eventually buying your own place, or simply living your life. That’s essentially the kind of arrangement I’m looking for. I have a slight preference for a female flatmate, but I’m absolutely open to the right person regardless of gender.
